Lady Golden Rams Still Searching for First Win

FLORENCE, AL- Albany State University suffered a 5-0 shutout at the hands of North Alabama on Friday afternoon at UNA Soccer Complex.

ASU held the Lions to just one goal in the first half but surrendered 4 scores in second half. UNA moves to 11-3-1 on the year while, the Lady Golden Rams slip to 0-11 for the season.

Abby Whiteside went the distance for ASU and put up a 14 save effort.

The Lions not only held ASU scoreless, their defense was fiercely staunch as they did not allow a single shot on goal in the contest. Beatriz Fernandes accounted for the first score of the game from 40 yards out at the 28:03 mark. UNA then scored four goals in the second half to secure the win, the last two from Kylie Huey, one from Madeline Guillen while the other was unassisted.

The Lady Golden Rams will return to action on November 1st when they host Georgia Gwinnett College. Game time is scheduled for 4pm on West Campus soccer field.
