Lady Rams Volleyball defeats Brewton Parker

ALBANY, Ga.- Brittianni Phillips recorded 10 kills to lead Albany State to a 3-1 win over Brewton Parker College. With the victory, ASU completes a season sweep of the Lady Barons. The team defeated BPC 3-2 on Sept. 8.
 
The Lady Rams own an overall record of 9-7. Brewton Parker remains winless at 0-12.
 
In the first set, Albany State fell behind early and was able to make a late comeback that fell short. After trailing by as many as six points, the Lady Rams closed the gap but eventually lost 25-23.
 
ASU made its rally in the following three games. The Lady Rams gained the momentum early and won the next two sets by identical scores of 25-19. Albany State dominated Brewton Parker in the fourth game, winning 25-14.
 
Jordan Stuckey and Maria Sanchez each had a career-high nine kills. Sanchez also had three blocks. Kailyn Fuller added six kills. Setter Jahkishma Soto recorded 30 assists and five digs.
 
Defensively, Jordan Brooklin led the team with 15 digs, while Kiara Thompson had 13. Fuller and Dominique Austin each tallied 10 digs.
 
The Lady Rams will return to action Tuesday, Sept. 27 when they travel to Fort Valley, Georgia to face archrival Fort Valley State. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
