Albany State began its scoring in the top of the second inning. Kevin Wimbish hit a single to score Bryant Prather and take a 1-0 lead.

The fourth inning provided more offense for Albany State. After a Sage Sammons and Payton Dixon walked, Trevor Billings hit a homerun to add three more runs to the team's total. Another run in the top of the fifth inning courtesy of Sammons double that scored Juan Vidal gave the Golden Rams an 8-0 advantage.

However, the Panthers scored 10 runs between the fifth and sixth inning to hold off the Golden Rams' charge.
