Lady Rams lose season opener to Division I FAMU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Albany State Lady Rams Tennis team opened its season against some stiff competition. Playing against Division I Florida A&M University, ASU was defeated 7-0 in a Saturday afternoon matchup.

All Lady Rams competing lost in straight sets. Sophomore Vivian Moultrie, who was a 2015 SIAC All Conference second team selection had the best performance. She was defeated by FAMU's Alexis Dean 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles competition, Moultrie teamed with Kristen Randolph, but dropped a 4-1 decision to Shantel Blackwood and Arrice Robinson.

Albany State returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 7 when it travels to Atlanta, Ga. to face the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers.
