Golden Rams lose final game against Lee University

CLEVELAND, Tn.- The Albany State Golden Rams still had difficulty at the plate against Lee University. ASU recorded only two hits and lost to the Flames 9-1 in the final contest of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon.
 
With the loss, the Golden Rams fall to 0-4 overall. Lee improves to 3-0 on the season.
 
Lee used the first and second innings to build an early lead 3-0 lead. Albany State was able to cut its deficit to 3-1 when Trevor Billings scored a run in the top of the fourth inning.
 
Unfortunately, that run was the highlight of the Golden Rams' offense. The Flames added three runs in the bottom of the fifth, two runs in the bottom of the sixth and another one in the bottom of the seventh to pull away from the visiting team.
 
Cullen Coulter was the losing pitcher for Albany State.
 
Albany State will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 9 when it hosts Valdosta State in its home opener at Golden Rams Park. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
