MOBILE, Ala.- Jordan Floyd scored a team-high 15 points, but it wasn't enough to help the Albany State Golden Rams snap their long losing streak. ASU dropped an 85-62 decision to the Spring Hill Badgers and extended their losing streak to 13 games. The Golden Rams are now 1-13 overall and 0-6 in the SIAC. Spring Hill improves to 4-8, 3-2.
After staying in contention for most of the first half, the contest started to get away from Albany State late in the stanza. A 21-6 run by the Badgers put the Golden Rams into a 42-20 deficit with 1:09 left. Spring Hill led 42-22 at halftime.
In the second half, ASU could never make a serious run to get back into contention. Spring Hill held its largest lead, 61-33, at the 12:48 mark.
The Golden Rams shot 24-of-59 (40.7%) from the field, 9-of-23 (39.1%) from three-point range and 5-of-12 from the free throw line.
Sawyer Glick recorded 22 points for the Badgers, who also got 19 points and 10 rebounds from Walter Massey.
Albany State returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 14 when it travels to Augusta, Ga. to face the Paine College Lions. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
