Golden Rams Baseball falls to Shorter

Rome, Georgia- Hector Carrasquillo recorded two hits and two RBIs, but the Albany State Golden Rams were bested by the Shorter University Skyhawks 6-3. ASU drops to 3-19 overall, while Shorter improves to 8-7.
 
The Skyhawks jumped to an early 1-0 lead early in the first inning. Albany State's deficit increased in the bottom of the fourth inning when Shorter added four more runs.
 
The Golden Rams began their rally with two runs in the top of the seventh inning. Carrasquillo belted a single that scored both Emmanuel Santos and Jeremy Arrington to cut Shorter's edge to 5-2. Shorter added another run in the bottom of the inning for a 6-2 advantage.
 
ASU's final run came in the top of the ninth inning. Santos hit another single to bring Arrington home to account for the final score.
 
Arrington and Santos each collected two hits for the Golden Rams.  Allen Hardy took the mound loss.
 
ASU recorded seven hits as a team and committed three errors.
 
Albany State returns to action on March 14-15 when it hosts the Morehouse Maroon Tigers in three SIAC contests. The two teams will begin a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 p.m. On Sunday, the single game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
