In the second half, the Maroon Tigers increased their lead to as many as 16 points on four different occasions. Trailing 64-49 with 10:15 left in regulation, the Golden Rams made a run to get back into contention. Fueled by its halfcourt defense, Albany State outscored Morehouse over the next six minutes to tie the game at 66 with a Darshtyn Baker trey.

After a missed jumper by Elijah Jordan with 46 seconds remaining, Morehouse was able to score a basket with four seconds left to take a 70-68 lead. Albany State was able to get off a shot, but Davetom Odom's three-point attempt fell just short of the basket.
