Golden Rams loss to Georgia College ends three-game win streak

Milledgeville, GA- Senior Larry Bullock made five three-pointers en route to a 21-point performance, but the Albany State Golden Rams dropped a 77-64 decision to the Georgia College Bobcats 77-64. With the loss, ASU's three-game win streak is snapped, and it now has a 3-2 overall record. Georgia College improves to 4-2.
 
Led by Bullock's early outside shooting and solid team defense, Albany State held the early advantage in the first half. A Bullock three-pointer and a jumper by Demetri Wheeler provided ASU with a 23-13 lead at the 10:25 mark. Another basket by Bullock with 5:43 left to play in the half provided the Golden Rams with their largest lead, 32-21.
 
However, Georgia College finished the half on an 18-8 run to cut its deficit. Albany State took a 40-39 edge into halftime.
 
In the second half, with the score tied at 44, Georgia College took the lead for good off a free throw and layup to take a 47-44 lead. The Bobcats led 70-59 at the 5:03 mark before Davetom Odom made a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 70-62. A basket by Earl Farnum with 4:07 left to play trimmed GC's lead to 70-64 and put the Golden Rams back into contention.
 
Georgia College ended the game on a 7-0 run to diminish the Albany State comeback hopes.
 
Chris Wheeler recorded 12 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Rams. Wheeler added seven points and 10 rebounds, and Odom led the team with seven assists to go along with eight points.
 
Albany State returns to action on Friday, December 12th when they host Point University at the ASU HPER Gymnasium. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
