Bullock’s three-pointer lifts Golden Rams over Georgia College

Albany, Ga.- Senior Larry Bullock made a three-pointer with 3.3 seconds left in regulation to lead the Albany State Golden Rams to a 67-66 win over the Georgia College Bobcats. With the victory, Albany State improves to 2-2 on the season, while GC suffers its first loss (2-1).
 
In front of a raucous home crowd, Albany State got off to a slow start, trailing by as many as nine points in the opening minutes of the game. The Golden Rams continued to chip away at their deficit. ASU took its first lead, 30-28, at the 1:56 mark of the half. They led 33-31 at intermission.
 
In the second half, the Golden Rams went cold once again, and the Bobcats took advantage with a 12-1 run to build a 45-36 advantage at the 14:40 mark. With 12:50 remaining in the game, ASU trailed 49-38 before going on a run of its own. A trey by Jeremy Whitmore tied the game with 5:17 left to play.
 
With 26 second left, Georgia College went up by a point, 65-64. The Golden Rams promptly turned the ball over and had to foul to have a chance at the end. The Bobcats made one of the two free throws, and Davetom Odom pushed the ball up the court and found Bullock for the game-winning three-pointer. GC's last second attempt was off the mark.
 
Bullock finished with 20 points on the night. Davetom Odom added 11 points. Forward Demetri Wheeler led the team in rebounding (11), assists (5) and steals (4). He also added seven points.
 
The Golden Rams shot 22 of 66 (33.3) from the field, 15 of 20 (.750) from the free throw line and eight of 26 (30.8) from three-point range. They also recorded 12 steals and forced the Bobcats into 21 turnovers.
 
Albany State returns to action on November 29th when they take on Georgia Southwestern University at ASU HPER Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
