Todd Triplett

Todd Triplett enters his first full season as Head Coach of the Lady Golden Rams basketball program at Albany State University Athletics after being named to the position on April 1, 2026, following a successful stint as interim head coach.

Triplett assumed leadership of the program during the 2025–26 season and guided the Lady Golden Rams to one of their most competitive seasons in recent years, positioning the program for continued growth under his leadership.

Prior to Albany State, Triplett built a diverse coaching résumé across the collegiate, high school, and professional levels. He spent three seasons coaching internationally in Mexico’s CIBAPAC, CIBACOPA, and ABCMex leagues, with stops in Zacatecas, Guaymas, and Progreso. At the collegiate level, he served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Edward Waters University and previously held the role of Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Clark Atlanta University.

Triplett also found success at the high school level, leading West Oaks Academy to the 2020 SIAA Girls Basketball State Championship. His early coaching experience includes time with Bethune-Cookman University as a volunteer, as well as serving as an assistant men’s coach at Brevard Community College. He also served as head coach of the Orlando Aces as part of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and led teams at the NBA-sanctioned Global Hoop Summit in Las Vegas.

As a player, Triplett competed professionally in Europe, including stops in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, where he later transitioned into coaching. He played collegiately at Morris Brown College following his prep career at Redan High School in Atlanta.

A native of Atlanta, Ga., Triplett holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Charter Oak State College and a Master of Education in Instructional Technology from InterContinental University.

Triplett is the proud father of three daughters and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.. He is committed to building a championship-caliber program centered on accountability, development, and the holistic success of Albany State’s student-athletes both on and off the court.
