Hewitt will join the coaching staff at Albany State University. He is a native of Florida. He began his coaching career in 2013 as a trainer with Press On Sports, Hollywood, FL. He was an intern basketball coach at St. Thomas University August 2017 - December 2017. Â
Hewitt started his basketball career at the age of seven (7), playing with the City of Miramar Recreation Team. Hewitt went on to play for many Police Athletic League (PAL) teams and also AAU teams. During his middle school career as a player he was selected to play on the varsity basketball team at American Heritage, Plantation, FL. He went on to graduate from University School where he was a standout player.
While earning his bachelor’s degree in Sport’s Administration, Hewitt played for the Men’s Basketball team from 2014-2018. He had a total of seventy-eight (78) wins, and attended national three (3) times.  He graduated May 2018 with a bachelors in Sports Administration.
In 2016-17, Hewitt helped lead St. Thomas to a record of 20-9 overall, 11-5 in the Sun Conference, and 4th overall. He was second in the nation in steals per game, 5th in total steals and 6th overall in assists per game, was named Defensive Player of the year in the Sun Conference.Â
In 2017-18, Hewitt helped lead St. Thomas to a record of 23-8 overall, 16-2 in the Sun Conference, winning the conference regular season title. He was also named Defensive Player of the year in the Sun Conference.Â
