Claire Hilliard

Claire Hillard, Jr. enters his first season as an assistant coach at Albany State University. He spent the last six seasons at Darton State College as both a player and assistant coach. Hillard’s responsibilities include development of infielders and catchers, coaching first base, and generating defensive alignments during games.
 
“Coach Hillard does an amazing job with our infielders and defensive alignments”, ASU head coach Scot Hemmings said. “I truly believe that his work with our infielders was a huge factor in our run to the JUCO World Series in 2016. “Coach Hillard will be a huge asset to the Albany State University staff with his attention to detail and overall work ethic.”
 
Hillard was a two-time All-Region 1-AAA selection at Westover High School in Albany, Ga. before attending Darton. He graduated from Darton in 2012 after leading the 2011 Cavalier team in batting average (.349). He earned a Bachelor’s degree in special education at Georgia Southwestern State University in 2014. Hilliard is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree from Georgia Southern University.
 
Hillard resides in Albany with his wife, Ann Marie Hillard.
