The Albany State University Marching Rams Show Band (MRSB) is a premier HBCU marching ensemble renowned for its high-energy performances, precision marching, and distinctive high-stepping style. The band performs at football games, university events, community engagements, and regional parades, consistently representing Albany State University with excellence and pride.
In Spring 2023, Albany State proudly welcomed Dr. William Brooks as the new Director of Bands. Under his visionary leadership, the Marching Rams Show Band has continued to elevate its musical and performance standards. Comprising talented students from across the nation, the ensemble comes together each summer to prepare for a season filled with artistry, discipline, and Golden Ram pride.
The Marching Rams have appeared on national stages such as the Honda All-Star Battle of the Bands and the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands in Houston, Texas, reflecting the program’s growing national presence.
Under the direction of Dr. William T. Brooks III, Director of Bands, students from across the country come together each fall to develop musicianship, discipline, leadership, and performance excellence through a structured rehearsal process.
