Lady Golden Rams Set for Black Excellence Volleyball Circuit Showcase

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University women's volleyball team returns home this weekend as the Lady Golden Rams compete in the Black Excellence Volleyball Circuit Showcase at the Jones Brothers HPER Complex.

Albany State will be one of eight teams competing in the showcase, joining Allen University, Benedict College, Claflin University, Clinton College, Fort Valley State University, Savannah State University and Virginia Union University.

The Lady Golden Rams will open the showcase on Friday with a 2 p.m. matchup against Virginia Union.

Action continues Saturday with a pair of matches for Albany State. The Lady Golden Rams will begin the day against SIAC opponent Savannah State at 9 a.m. before closing out the showcase against Clinton College at 3 p.m.

The weekend provides Albany State with an opportunity to compete in front of its home crowd for the first time this season while facing competition from both inside and outside the SIAC.

Albany State Showcase Schedule

Friday

  • 2 p.m. – Albany State vs. Virginia Union

Saturday

  • 9 a.m. – Albany State vs. Savannah State
  • 3 p.m. – Albany State vs. Clinton College

All Albany State matches will take place inside the Jones Brothers HPER Complex.
