ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany State University women's volleyball team returns to the Jones Brothers HPER Gym on Wednesday night as the Golden Rams welcome Allen University for a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup at 7 p.m.
Albany State enters Wednesday's contest looking to bounce back following its home opener against Benedict on Sunday and add another victory in SIAC play.
The Golden Rams will look for production throughout their lineup against the Yellow Jackets. Senior outside hitter Jarianis Perez remains an important part of the Albany State attack, while Shaniya Banks and Maya Ogbogu provide experience in the middle.
Albany State has also received contributions from some of its younger players this season. Freshman middle hitter/opposite Serenity Jackson has provided another option at the net, while freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist Aurora Rieck has contributed when called upon. Jackson has appeared in 30 sets this season, while Rieck has recorded nine kills and 13 digs across her early-season action.
Setters Liannette Burgos and Trinity Britt have helped direct the Golden Rams' offense, while Myra Lopez and Gabby Moore provide veteran experience defensively.
Head coach Verniece Graham and the Golden Rams will look to defend their home court and build momentum as they continue through their SIAC schedule.
