ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University sophomore Brea Vann has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women's Runner of the Week for the second week in a row following another strong performance for the Golden Rams at the UNG XC Invitational.

Vann once again led the way for Albany State, crossing the finish line in 19:27.5 and serving as the Golden Rams' top finisher at the meet.

The Smyrna, Tennessee native continued her impressive start to the 2026 season, helping Albany State secure a sixth-place team finish against a competitive field in Gainesville, Georgia.

The honor marks Vann's second consecutive SIAC Women's Runner of the Week selection. The previous week, Vann earned the conference honor after finishing third overall at the Willie Laster Invitational with a time of 19:49.60. She was the first NCAA Division II runner to cross the finish line, finishing behind only two runners from Division I Florida A&M.

Vann has established herself as a consistent leader for the Golden Rams during the early portion of the season as Albany State continues its pursuit of a third consecutive SIAC Women's Cross Country Championship.

Albany State will return to competition Friday, Oct. 2, when the Golden Rams travel to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia Tech XC Invitational.
