Watts Repeats as SIAC FB Special Teams Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – With another game influencing effort, the Golden Ram returner grabbed the honors again. Albany State's Cameron Watts repeated as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week honoree.

The senior from Tyrone, Ga., bounced off the tackler on his punt return and raced to the right side and down the sideline for a 69-yard touchdown to give ASU its largest of 26-14 with 3:28 left in the second quarter. The Golden Rams special teams score capped three-straight touchdowns to go from being down 14-7 to leading by the 12-point margin, a lead it would not give up the rest of the way of the eventual 32-28 win over the Yellow Jackets.

Along with his highlight reel punt return touchdown, Watts also returned one kick off for 16 yards and registered two tackles from his defensive back position on the day.

It marks the second week in a row Watts has earned the SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Watts and the Golden Rams make their first home appearance this week Saturday, Sept. 26. ASU hosts Kentucky State in a 1 p.m. match up at the ASU Coliseum.
