Albany, Ga. — Albany State University continued to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in the classroom as 91 student-athletes earned recognition from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) on the league's annual academic honors lists for the 2025-26 academic year.

The SIAC recently announced its 2025-26 Commissioner's All-Academic Team and All-Academic Team, recognizing student-athletes across the conference for their outstanding academic achievements.

Among the 1,334 student-athletes recognized across the conference, Albany State excelled by placing 79 of its student-athletes on the SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team. This honor is reserved for those who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.40 or higher. Additionally, 12 Golden Rams received accolades on the SIAC All-Academic Team, representing their respective sports, which recognizes student-athletes who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or above.

The recognition reflects another successful academic year for Albany State Athletics, which finished fourth among SIAC institutions with a departmental GPA of 3.188.

The academic honors cap another strong year in the classroom for Albany State Athletics. Throughout the 2025-26 academic year, Golden Ram student-athletes consistently demonstrated the department's emphasis on balancing competitive success with academic achievement, personal development and community engagement.

The SIAC's academic awards recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through their performance in the classroom while meeting the demands of intercollegiate athletics competition.
