Golden Rams Explode for Series Sweep Over Morehouse in Atlanta

Atlanta, Ga. — The Albany State Golden Rams closed out their weekend in dominant fashion, showcasing resilience, firepower, and depth in a commanding series sweep over Morehouse College. After taking Game 1 earlier in the series, the Golden Rams surged to victories of 22-8 in Game 2 and 11-5 in Game 3, leaving no doubt about their offensive strength and ability to respond in big moments.

Game 2 saw Albany State overcome an early deficit before delivering one of its most explosive innings of the season. Trailing early, the Golden Rams began to chip away behind a solo home run from Isaiah Haygood in the fourth and a momentum-shifting three-run blast from Ty Grover in the fifth that evened the score.

From there, Albany State completely took control.

The sixth inning turned into a defining moment, as the Golden Rams erupted for a massive scoring outburst. Luke Addison jumpstarted the inning with a two-run home run, and the offense continued to pour it on with timely hits from Arin Chevers, Emory Stephens, Tyler Turner, and Aiden Payne. Grover remained a force at the plate, adding multiple extra-base hits and driving in key runs as Albany State built a commanding lead.

The power surge continued late, as Turner launched a grand slam in the eighth inning and Grover followed with another three-run homer, putting the finishing touches on a 22-run performance. The Golden Rams' lineup displayed depth from top to bottom, with multiple players contributing to the offensive explosion.

In Game 3, Albany State carried that momentum into another complete performance to secure the sweep.

The Golden Rams struck early, as Grover delivered a two-run double in the first inning to set the tone. After Morehouse briefly battled back, Albany State responded with poise and consistency. Arin Chevers provided a spark with a solo home run, while Stephens and Chevers added RBI singles in the fifth to regain control.

The defining moment came in the sixth inning when Grover once again delivered in a big way, crushing a three-run homer to extend the lead. One inning later, Addison sealed the game with a three-run blast of his own, highlighting another powerful showing from the Golden Rams' middle of the lineup.

Grover led the charge offensively in Game 3 with five RBIs, while Addison and Chevers added multiple hits and timely power. The Golden Rams' ability to respond to every push from Morehouse proved to be the difference, as they maintained control down the stretch.

Across both games, Albany State's offense was relentless, combining timely hitting with game-changing power. The Golden Rams demonstrated their depth, with contributions throughout the lineup and consistent production in key moments.

With the series sweep, Albany State builds valuable momentum heading into the next stretch of the season.
