Offensive Explosion Powers Lady Golden Rams to Series Sweep Over Allen

Albany, Ga. - The Albany State Lady Golden Rams closed out a dominant weekend in emphatic fashion, overpowering Allen University 23-8 in game three to complete the series sweep in Albany, Ga. With the victory, Albany State improves to 26-6 overall and 14-4 in SIAC play, holding firm atop the Eastern Division.

The Lady Golden Rams delivered one of their most explosive offensive performances of the season, highlighted by a remarkable 17-run second inning that completely shifted the momentum and showcased the depth of Albany State's lineup.

After falling behind early, Albany State responded with relentless energy at the plate. The inning was driven by timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and taking advantage of every opportunity. Abbigale Jones and Arianah McKenzie each delivered crucial RBI singles, while Avery Fisher added a two-run single to keep the offense going. As the pressure built, Tranasia Parker made the biggest swing of the inning—a towering grand slam that energized the crowd and sealed the huge rally.

The Lady Golden Rams never let up. In the fourth inning, they continued to pile on runs as Amari Mapps launched a grand slam of her own, finishing with five RBIs on the day. Contributions came from throughout the lineup, with players consistently finding ways to get on base and drive in runs. Albany State's balanced attack saw multiple players record hits and runs, reinforcing the team's offensive depth.

In the circle, McKenzie Fitch set the tone early, delivering a steady performance to secure the win. The pitching staff worked together to manage the game, while the defense made key plays behind them to maintain control.

From top to bottom, Albany State showcased its ability to dominate offensively while playing with confidence and composure. The combination of power hitting, disciplined at-bats, and team chemistry proved too much for Allen, as the Lady Golden Rams completed the sweep convincingly.

With momentum on their side, Albany State now turns its focus back to conference play on the road, traveling to Atlanta, Ga., for a key series against Clark Atlanta on April 10-11.
