Atlanta, Ga. — The Albany State Lady Golden Rams delivered a statement weekend on the road, sweeping Clark Atlanta with back-to-back victories on Saturday, 7-5 and 6-4, to extend their winning streak to eight games and clinch the SIAC Eastern Division title.
With the series sweep, Albany State improves to an impressive 29-6 overall and 17-4 in conference play, continuing to showcase the consistency, resilience, and firepower that have defined their season.
Game 2: Power Surge Fuels 7-5 Victory
Albany State wasted no time setting the tone in Game 2, unleashing an offensive explosion early that ultimately carried them to a 7-5 win.
The Lady Golden Rams struck in the first inning behind a two-run home run from
Avery Fisher, igniting the dugout and establishing momentum. That energy continued into the second, as
Abbigale Jones added a solo home run to extend the lead. The biggest swing came in the third inning when
Mackenzie Nervis delivered a three-run blast to left field, pushing the advantage to 6-0 and showcasing Albany State's ability to change the game with one swing.
At the plate, Albany State's offense was both explosive and efficient, tallying nine hits. Fisher and Nervis each recorded multi-hit performances, while
Arianah McKenzie set the table with two hits and two runs scored.
Kyla Fitch added a key RBI triple in the sixth inning to provide additional cushion.
In the circle,
Tamia Pierce earned her first win of the series (sixth win this season), delivering a steady six-inning performance.
McKenzie Fitch came on in relief and shut the door in the seventh to secure the victory.
Game 3: Balanced Attack Secures the Sweep
In the series finale, Albany State once again demonstrated its poise and execution, earning a 6-4 win to complete the sweep.
The Lady Golden Rams jumped out early, capitalizing on opportunities in the first inning.
Mackenzie Nervis drove in the game's first run with an RBI single, and another run crossed shortly after to give Albany State a 2-0 lead. After a quiet stretch, the offense erupted again in the fifth inning.
Avery Fisher came through with a clutch two-run double, and
Abbigale Jones followed with a two-run triple to break the game open and extend the lead to 6-0.
Albany State totaled six hits in the contest, with Jones and Nervis each recording two-hit performances. Fisher once again played a pivotal role in the middle of the lineup, driving in two runs.

McKenzie Fitch delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just four runs while keeping Clark Atlanta in check throughout. Her command and composure helped preserve the lead and secure the sweep.
Up next, the Lady Golden Rams will remain on the road as they travel to face Georgia Southwestern in a non-conference doubleheader on April 14 in Americus, Ga., looking to keep their winning ways rolling.
