Albany, Ga. — The Albany State Golden Rams delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, sweeping Clark Atlanta in a three-game conference series marked by explosive offense, timely hitting, and strong pitching when it mattered most.
From the opening inning of Game 1 to the final out of Game 3, the Golden Rams set the tone and never looked back, showcasing their depth and ability to win in multiple ways.
Albany State wasted no time asserting control in the series opener, erupting for an early lead behind disciplined at-bats and aggressive baserunning.
Arin Chevers sparked the offense in the second inning, driving in two runs to ignite a rally fueled by patience at the plate.
Ty Grover followed with a clutch double that extended the lead, while
Tyler Turner added a two-out home run that halted any momentum from Clark Atlanta.
The offense was relentless, finishing with 12 runs on 12 hits and drawing an impressive 11 walks. Turner led the way with three runs scored, while Chevers and Grover each drove in multiple runs. On the mound,
Calvin Baker set the foundation with a steady start, and the bullpen held firm down the stretch.
Colin Loeffler closed the door with three scoreless innings, striking out four to secure the win.
Game 2 saw the Golden Rams take things to another level offensively. Albany State once again jumped ahead early, highlighted by a two-RBI single from
Luke Addison, and continued execution throughout the lineup.
Isaiah Haygood delivered a standout performance, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs, including a home run, while
Aiden Payne added a three-run blast that broke the game open.
The Golden Rams showed their ability to respond to pressure, answering every Clark Atlanta push with timely runs. A dominant eighth inning put the game out of reach, as Albany State piled on key insurance runs through smart baserunning and situational hitting. On the mound,
Jeremiah Reddell provided a solid start, while the bullpen combined to finish the game with composure and efficiency.
In the series finale, Albany State demonstrated its versatility, grinding out a 5-2 victory behind timely hitting and consistent execution. After falling behind early, the Golden Rams responded immediately in the second inning.
David Cooper delivered a key double to spark the rally, and
Luke Addison followed with a two-RBI single to give Albany State the lead.
Cooper continued his standout performance with another RBI double and later added a sacrifice fly, accounting for multiple runs in the game. Addison remained a steady presence at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in two runs, while
Emory Stephens added a multi-hit performance to keep the offense moving.
Across the series, Albany State's lineup showed balance from top to bottom. The Golden Rams consistently applied pressure with their speed, recording multiple stolen bases in each game and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Defensively and on the mound, the team showed composure, making key plays and delivering timely outs to maintain control.
