Jackson, Tenn. - The Albany State Golden Rams delivered an impressive showing on the road in Jackson, Tennessee, seizing a 2-0 lead in their conference series against Lane College with a thrilling comeback win in Game 1, followed by an offensive explosion in Game 2. With momentum firmly on their side, the Golden Rams now look ahead to completing the sweep in the series finale.
 
Game 1 showcased Albany State's resilience and timely hitting as the Golden Rams battled back to secure a 12-10 victory. Albany State came out swinging early, highlighted by a two-run home run from Aiden Payne in the opening inning. The offense continued to produce in the fourth, as Arin Chevers launched a two-run homer before Luke Addison added a clutch two-RBI single to extend the lead to 6-0. Lane responded with a surge of its own, eventually taking an 8-6 advantage heading into the late innings. However, Albany State refused to back down. Addison delivered again in the eighth inning with a go-ahead three-run home run, finishing a standout performance at the plate. The Golden Rams added crucial insurance runs in the ninth behind productive outs from Mylon Uribe and Ryan Brown, along with heads-up baserunning that led to another run. On the mound, Andrew Keown earned the win in relief, while Dereck Foster closed the door to secure the save and preserve the hard-fought victory.
 
The momentum carried seamlessly into Game 2, where Albany State turned in one of its most dominant offensive performances of the season in a commanding 29-5 win. The Golden Rams wasted no time setting the tone, as Arin Chevers and Isaiah Haygood each drove in runs in the opening frame, with Haygood launching a two-run homer. After Lane briefly answered, Albany State responded with an explosive third inning that broke the game wide open. The Golden Rams plated 14 runs in the inning, powered by home runs from David Cooper and Chevers, along with a string of timely hits throughout the lineup. Cooper delivered a remarkable performance, finishing with multiple hits including a three-run homer, while Chevers continued his strong day with another home run and multiple RBIs. Addison added to the offensive barrage with a home run and a double, and Jaden Camp contributed with a key two-RBI double. Albany State's lineup produced runs up and down the order, showcasing depth and consistency. On the mound, Colin Loeffler provided a steady presence in relief, striking out eight batters over five innings to help secure the win.
 
With the pair of victories, Albany State has positioned itself strongly in the series and will look to carry its momentum into the finale. The Golden Rams return to action tomorrow, March 22, with first pitch set for 11:00 a.m. as they aim to complete the sweep over Lane College.
