Golden Rams Showcase Power and Poise in Conference Series at Spring Hill

Mobile, Ala. — The Albany State Golden Rams traveled to face Spring Hill College in a competitive three-game conference series at Stanky Field, earning a dominant Game 2 victory and showcasing resilience and standout individual performances throughout the weekend. While the series concluded in a 1-2 decision, Albany State demonstrated offensive firepower, depth on the mound, and continued growth against a tough conference opponent.
 
In the series opener, Albany State set the tone early when Tyler Turner hit an RBI single to score David Cooper. Turner had a standout performance, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. David Kile also contributed with two hits, including a double, while Emory Stephens recorded two hits and reached base three times. On the mound, Quindon Wright struck out six in five innings, with Andrew Keown and Colin Loeffler providing solid relief. The Golden Rams totaled eight hits, drew five walks, and turned a key double play defensively.
 
Albany State responded undoubtedly in Game 2, producing one of its most complete performances of the season in an 11-3 victory. The Golden Rams exploded for five runs in the second inning, highlighted by Jaden Camp's towering three-run home run down the right-field line. Camp finished with a game-high five RBIs, reaching base multiple times and igniting the offense from the leadoff spot. Ty Grover added a solo home run and scored twice, while Isaiah Haygood contributed with a double and a run scored.
 
The offense showed discipline and depth throughout the lineup, drawing 10 walks and capitalizing on scoring opportunities late. Emory Stephens delivered an RBI single and swiped a base, while Mylon Uribe and David Kile combined for three runs scored and aggressive baserunning that pressured Spring Hill's defense. On the mound, Calvin Baker earned the win with five strong innings, striking out five and allowing just two earned runs. The bullpen was exceptional, as Chase Ledger threw three shutout innings with five strikeouts, and Luke Hayes closed the door with a scoreless ninth. Albany State pitching combined for 11 strikeouts while holding Spring Hill to five hits in the game.
 
In the series finale, the Golden Rams continued to compete with energy and fight. Perry Usher delivered Albany State's run-scoring hit with an RBI single in the seventh inning, bringing home Emory Stephens, who finished 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. The Golden Rams showed toughness at the plate, drawing three walks and battling through multiple hit-by-pitches to create opportunities.
 
Samuel Crew provided a steady start on the mound, tossing five innings with four strikeouts while keeping the game within reach. Jeremiah Reddell added an inning of relief work to close out the contest.
 
Throughout the weekend, Albany State's offensive leaders included Tyler Turner, who drove in two runs in Game 1; Jaden Camp, whose five-RBI performance headlined Game 2; and Emory Stephens, who consistently reached base and contributed in multiple facets. On the mound, Calvin Baker's five-inning win and Chase Ledger's dominant relief appearance stood out as key pitching highlights.
 
Up next, Albany State remains on the road as they head to Cochran, Ga. to face Middle Georgia in a midweek non-conference match on Tuesday, March 3 at 4:00 PM
