Albany, Ga. — The Albany State Lady Golden Rams wrapped up the regular season Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought 78-89 contest against Benedict College inside the Jones Brothers HPER Complex.
In a game filled with emotion and celebration, Albany State honored its seniors while delivering a spirited performance highlighted by strong individual efforts and relentless energy on both ends of the floor.
Leading the way was
Sariah Johnson, who turned in a dominant Senior Day showing with 25 points and a commanding presence on the glass. Johnson controlled the boards throughout the afternoon, finishing with an impressive 15 rebounds to secure a double-double. She consistently attacked the paint and lived at the free-throw line, converting 13 shots from the stripe.
Jada Morgan added 18 points, knocking down a three-pointer and providing steady offensive production, while
Na'Haviya Paxton contributed 11 points, three assists, and four steals in an all-around effort.
Khyla Ragins chipped in nine points, including a three-pointer, as Albany State's starting unit set a competitive tone.
Albany State displayed efficiency in key stretches, shooting over 53 percent from the field in the second quarter. The Lady Golden Rams also generated 22 second-chance points and scored 42 points in the paint, showcasing their physicality and determination around the rim. The bench contributed valuable minutes and 15 points, with
Tiffani Goodman providing a spark with five points and four assists.
Despite the final margin, the Lady Golden Rams demonstrated resilience and composure throughout the matchup, battling through multiple lead changes and maintaining intensity until the final buzzer. The afternoon served as a fitting tribute to the program's seniors, whose leadership and dedication have helped shape the team's identity this season.
