Albany, Ga. — Albany State delivered a late-game thriller, rallying for a 6–5 extra-inning victory over Lynn University at the West Campus Baseball Complex. The win extends the Golden Rams' streak to four games and showcases the team's poise in a tightly contested battle that went down to the final swing.
After falling behind 2–0 in the opening frame, Albany State answered immediately.
Luke Addison sparked the response with an RBI single in the first, then shifted momentum in the third with a clutch two-run double to give the Golden Rams a 3–2 lead. Albany State continued to apply pressure in the fourth when
Arin Chevers lined an RBI single to center, stretching the advantage to 4–2.
Lynn fought back to even the score, but Albany State matched every push. Addison once again played a pivotal role, crossing the plate in the fifth to reclaim a 5–4 edge. The contest tightened in the ninth when Lynn capitalized on a wild pitch to knot the game at 5–5, forcing extra innings.
In the bottom of the 10th, the Golden Rams seized their moment. With runners in motion,
Isaiah Haygood hustled down the line and reached safely on a Lynn error, allowing Addison to race home with the decisive run. The dugout erupted as Albany State walked off with its fourth straight victory.
At the plate, Addison delivered a standout performance, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two extra-base hits.
Tyler Turner added two hits, while
Quindon Wright contributed a pair of knocks of his own.
David Cooper set the tone atop the lineup, scoring twice and swiping two bases to keep Lynn's defense under constant pressure.
On the mound, Albany State's pitching staff combined for a resilient effort.
Sebastian Griffeth and
Calvin Baker provided strong early innings, and the bullpen held firm in key moments.
Andrew Keown earned the win after a composed outing in the 10th, shutting the door to set up the walk-off finish.
Up next, Albany State now turns its focus back to conference competition, returning to action February 21–22 for a weekend series against LeMoyne–Owen College.
