Albany, Ga. — In front of an energized crowd at the Jones Brothers HPER Complex for the Black History Blackout game, the Albany State Lady Golden Rams delivered a determined, high-effort performance tonight, closing strong in a tightly contested 60–55 battle against Miles College.

Albany State (12-9, 11-9 SIAC) showcased resilience and grit throughout the evening, highlighted by a standout performance from Na'Haviya Paxton. The senior small forward led all scorers with 19 points on an efficient 7-of-13 shooting, consistently attacking the basket and drawing contact. Paxton added six rebounds and four steals, providing a spark on both ends of the floor.

Paris Triplett anchored the Lady Golden Rams on the glass, finishing with a game-high nine rebounds to go along with eight points. Her presence inside helped Albany State control key stretches and generate second-chance opportunities. The Lady Golden Rams turned those efforts into 13 second-chance points, a reflection of their relentless work ethic in the paint.

Khyla Ragins provided an immediate boost off the bench, contributing nine points while knocking down Albany State's lone three-pointer of the night. Jolena Gardner was perfect from the field, scoring four points in limited minutes, while Chantell Barnes added six rebounds and key interior toughness.

Albany State's defense created momentum-shifting plays. The Lady Golden Rams converted turnovers into 17 points and added eight fast-break points, capitalizing on their ability to push the tempo. Albany State also dominated inside, scoring 32 points in the paint by aggressively challenging the defense.

The fourth quarter exemplified Albany State's fight. The Lady Golden Rams shot 40 percent from the field in the final period, their most efficient stretch of the game, while outscoring Miles 22–20. Albany State erased deficits, battled through multiple lead changes, and kept the outcome undecided until the closing moments.

Sariah Johnson contributed eight rebounds and valuable interior defense, while Jada Morgan added seven points and five boards. Tiffani Goodman facilitated the offense and chipped in defensively with two steals.
