Lady Golden Rams Ends Winter Homecoming Week with Bounce-Back Victory Over Fort Valley State

Albany, Ga. – The Albany State women's basketball team closed out Winter Homecoming week with resilience and resolve, responding to a tough midweek setback with a hard-fought 67–61 victory over rival Fort Valley State after falling 85–60 to Clark Atlanta earlier in the week.
 
Against Clark Atlanta:
Albany State faced Clark Atlanta in a midweek conference matchup, where the Lady Golden Rams battled early but struggled to keep pace as the game wore on.

Na'Haviya Paxton and Sariah Johnson led the way offensively, each finishing with 15 points. Paxton added a team-high 11 rebounds to record a double-double, while Johnson contributed six rebounds, three steals, and consistent pressure on both ends of the floor. Paris Triplett was dominant on the glass, pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds, and Jada Morgan chipped in six points and steady play from the starting lineup.

Albany State found success attacking the paint, scoring 40 points inside and winning the rebounding battle 52–44.
 
Against Fort Valley State (Winter Homecoming)
The Lady Golden Rams wasted no time turning the page, delivering a strong response in front of the home crowd during Winter Homecoming with a 67–61 victory over Fort Valley State.

Balanced scoring and defensive intensity defined Albany State's performance. Jada Morgan and Sariah Johnson each scored 11 points, while Quantrese Washington provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and nine rebounds. Taliah Grier delivered an efficient seven points in limited minutes, and Paris Triplett continued her strong presence on the boards with 10 rebounds.

Tiffani Goodman orchestrated the offense with a game-high 11 assists, along with eight points and four steals, helping Albany State generate 23 points off turnovers. The Lady Golden Rams controlled the paint once again, scoring 46 points inside and matching Fort Valley State on the boards with 52 rebounds.

Albany State's defensive pressure and depth proved to be the difference, as the Lady Golden Rams held off a late push to secure the rivalry win and give the home crowd plenty to celebrate.

Albany State will look to build on the momentum from its Winter Homecoming victory as the Lady Golden Rams hit the road to Savannah, Ga., to face Savannah State on February 5.
