ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University senior outside hitter Jarianis Perez has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Perez continued her impressive senior campaign, helping lead the Lady Golden Rams to a perfect 2-0 record last week with straight-set victories over rivals Fort Valley State and Clark Atlanta.
The Jacksonville, Florida, native totaled 29 kills, 13 digs, two service aces and 32 points across six sets of action, playing a key role in Albany State's continued success during conference play.
Against Fort Valley State, Perez delivered a match-high 16 kills while hitting .353, adding four digs, one service ace and one block assist to help the Lady Golden Rams secure a 3-0 victory over their conference rival.
Perez followed that performance with another impressive showing against Clark Atlanta, recording a match-high 13 kills on a .480 hitting percentage. She committed just one attacking error on 25 attempts while adding nine digs, one service ace and one block assist in another straight-set victory.
Her offensive production helped Albany State extend its winning streak to seven consecutive matches while pushing its streak of consecutive set victories to 14.
The back-to-back weekly honors further highlight Perez's consistency and leadership throughout the season. The senior has remained a key offensive weapon for head coach Verniece Graham and the Lady Golden Rams as they continue their push through the SIAC schedule.
With her second straight Offensive Player of the Week recognition, Perez continues to establish herself as one of the conference's top offensive performers.
