Atlanta, Ga. – Albany State Women's Volleyball continued their dominant conference run on Tuesday evening, earning a hard-fought win over Clark Atlanta University to remain perfect in SIAC play. With the victory, the Lady Golden Rams improve to 7-8 overall and 6-0 in the conference, while the Lady Panthers fall in league competition.
The Golden Rams displayed balance and composure on both sides of the net.
Jarianis Perez led the attack with nine kills, while
Shaniya Banks added eight, and
Jayda Watson chipped in six. Albany State's serving game proved to be a difference-maker, as
Myra Lopez tallied five aces, followed by
Liannette Burgos with three and Perez with two. Defensively, the Golden Rams were just as sharp—
Kaylin Teasley, Watson, and Banks each recorded two blocks to limit Clark Atlanta's offensive rhythm.
Setting duties were split effectively between
MiMi Harris and
Natalie Onozie, who dished out 10 assists apiece, keeping the offense steady and unpredictable. Burgos also contributed seven assists in the winning effort. Lopez anchored the back row with a match-high 18 digs, while
Talia Smith added seven and Perez collected six.
