Albany State Men’s Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule

Albany, Ga. – The Albany State University men's basketball program, under the leadership of eighth-year head coach Patrick Gayle, has officially announced its 2025-26 season schedule. The Golden Rams will open with a pair of scrimmages before embarking on a competitive slate of SIAC matchups and regional non-conference contests.

The season tips off with Albany State, traveling to Wilberforce, Ohio, for the SIAC/GSC Challenge, opening on Nov. 14 against West Alabama, followed by Mississippi College on Nov. 15. The Golden Rams return to Albany for their home opener on Nov. 20 against Morehouse College before hosting Florida Institute of Technology on Nov. 29.

Conference play intensifies in December as the Golden Rams face Clark Atlanta (Dec. 4), Savannah State (Dec. 11), and Edward Waters (Dec. 13). Road challenges follow at Allen University (Dec. 17) and Benedict College (Dec. 19), before closing out 2025 with a non-conference contest at Shorter University (Dec. 31).

The 2026 portion of the schedule begins with back-to-back road trips to LeMoyne-Owen (Jan. 3) and Lane College (Jan. 5). Albany State returns home for Kentucky State (Jan. 8) and Central State (Jan. 10) before heading to Miles College (Jan. 13). The month features marquee matchups including Spring Hill (Jan. 17), Tuskegee (Jan. 19), and a rivalry road game against Fort Valley State (Jan. 25), followed by a rematch at home (Jan. 31).

February brings the final push toward postseason play with trips to Savannah State (Feb. 5), Edward Waters (Feb. 7), and Spring Hill (Feb. 14), while home dates include Miles College (Feb. 11), Tuskegee (Feb. 16), Allen University (Feb. 19), and Benedict College (Feb. 21). The SIAC Tournament will run from Feb. 25 through March 7.

Head Coach Patrick Gayle, who has steadily built the Golden Rams into a consistent contender in the SIAC, will look to lead Albany State on another successful campaign. The combination of seasoned returners and new talent will be tested early against top competition, setting the tone for what promises to be another exciting year of Golden Rams basketball.
