Macon, GA — The Albany State Golden Rams took another step toward SIAC glory with an impressive 8-5 win over the Spring Hill College Badgers on Day 2 of the 2025 SIAC Baseball Championship Tournament. With the victory, the Golden Rams remain in the winners' bracket.
From the outset, the Golden Rams displayed poise and power on both sides of the field. Albany State jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, keeping constant pressure on the Spring Hill pitching staff while making timely defensive plays to halt the Badgers' comeback attempts.
The Rams were led by a balanced offensive attack that saw production throughout the lineup. Albany State capitalized on scoring opportunities and key hits in clutch moments, posting multiple runs across the middle innings to keep the Badgers at bay.
Defensively, the Rams kept Spring Hill in check with solid pitching and heads-up fielding. Despite a few late runs from the Badgers that narrowed the gap, the Rams' bullpen held strong in the final frames to secure the win.
With this victory, the Golden Rams continue their strong tournament run and move one step closer to the championship title.
