Albany, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams battled but ultimately fell short against Columbus State in a tough non-conference contest on Tuesday night at home. The loss brings ASU to a 17-17 overall record as they now set their sights on the road ahead in conference play.
The Golden Rams showed flashes of their offensive potential early, but missed opportunities and a strong performance from the Columbus State pitching staff kept them from gaining momentum. Despite getting runners aboard, ASU struggled to find the timely hits needed to capitalize on scoring chances.
On the mound, Albany State's pitching staff worked hard to keep the game within reach, with key strikeouts in high-pressure situations. However, defensive miscues and timely hitting by Columbus State created challenges that proved difficult to overcome.

The Golden Rams will resume conference play with a three-game set against the Maroon Tigers beginning Friday, April 4. The series will open with a single game, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, April 5. With the postseason race heating up, Albany State will aim to bounce back and make a strong push in SIAC competition.

Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program.
