Lady Golden Rams Secure Series Win Over Edward Waters

Albany, GA - The Albany State Lady Golden Rams claimed a crucial 2-1 series victory over Edward Waters, improving to 12-9 overall and 9-2 in SIAC play. The Lady Tigers fell to 18-17 overall and 10-5 in the conference after a hard-fought weekend series.
 
The series began with a setback for Albany State, as Edward Waters took Game 1 with a 6-3 victory. The Lady Golden Rams responded emphatically in Game 2, securing an 8-0 win behind a dominant offensive performance. Albany State sealed the series on Saturday with a thrilling 2-1 walk-off victory in Game 3.
 
In Game 2, Albany State's bats came alive, tallying 15 hits en route to an 8-0 win. Madison Hurt led the offensive charge, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored. The Lady Golden Rams took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning before adding insurance runs in the fourth and fifth frames. Pitcher Trista Murphy delivered a complete-game shutout, striking out five and allowing only six hits to secure the win?.
 
The decisive Game 3 was a tense pitcher's duel. The Lady Golden Rams broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning when TyJanae Brown crossed home plate after an aggressive baserunning display. Edward Waters responded in the seventh, tying the game at 1-1. However, Albany State had the final say, as Brown led off the bottom of the seventh with a double before scoring the game-winning run on a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded?

With the series win, Albany State remains in strong contention in the SIAC standings. Up next, the Lady Golden Rams will stay home to face Wesleyan College in a midweek non-conference doubleheader on March 25.
