Shakur Poteat Named BOXTOROW First Team All-American

ALBANY, GA – Albany State guard Shakur Poteat has been named to the prestigious BOXTOROW First Team All-American list, recognizing him as one of the top players in HBCU Division II basketball. Poteat's outstanding performance throughout the season solidified his place among the nation's elite, earning him this well-deserved honor.
 
With conference tournaments wrapped up and NCAA Regional play set to begin this week, BOXTOROW announced its 16th annual Division II HBCU All-American teams, celebrating the best talents across HBCU basketball programs.
 
Poteat's selection to the First Team places him alongside some of the top players in the country, reflecting his dedication, leadership, and impact on the court. His ability to elevate his team with dynamic scoring, defensive tenacity, and playmaking ability has made him a standout player for the Golden Rams this season.
 
Poteat joins a decorated list of athletes recognized by BOXTOROW, an organization that has administered HBCU All-America teams since 2009. His selection highlights his success and the strength of Albany State's basketball program.

ABOUT ALBANY STATE ATHLETICS
Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently field teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football. All teams compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), except women's soccer, which participates in the Peach Belt Conference.
