Albany, Ga. - The stage is set for another exciting week in Albany State Athletics, as the Golden Rams gear up for a full slate of competition across multiple sports. From the volleyball court to the soccer field, cross country course, and football gridiron, this week promises high energy, fierce competition, and plenty of Golden Ram pride.
Volleyball Preview:
The Lady Golden Rams are back in action this week, opening with a home contest against Savannah State on Tuesday, October 21, at 6:00 PM inside the HPE Gym. The team enters the week riding momentum after a dominant 3-0 sweep over Benedict College on October 14. Albany State looks to continue its hot streak, holding a commanding 9-1 series lead over Savannah State dating back to 2019, including a four-match win streak.
After defending home court, the Lady Golden Rams will hit the road to Jacksonville, Florida, to face Edward Waters on Thursday, October 23, at 6:00 PM. Albany State currently holds a 5-3 series advantage over the Lady Tigers, including wins in their last three matchups. With an 8-2 record in SIAC play, the Lady Golden Rams will look to strengthen their conference standing and close the week on a high note.

Women's Soccer Preview:
Albany State Women's Soccer looks to bounce back in conference play after a tough road loss to Georgia College. The Lady Golden Rams travel to Morrow, Georgia, for a midweek matchup against Clayton State on Wednesday, October 22, at 6:00 PM. The Lady Lakers enter the match after a 0-2 loss to Flagler, while Albany State looks to even the all-time series and show growth since their previous meeting on September 21, 2024, where Clayton State earned an 11-0 victory.
To close out the weekend, the Lady Golden Rams return home for their final home match of the season against Flagler College on Saturday, October 25, at 3:00 PM inside the ASU Soccer Complex. This special match also marks a chance to honor the dedication and resilience of the program as they conclude their home campaign.

Women's Cross-Country Preview
After a week of rest and preparation, the Lady Golden Rams Cross Country team is ready to defend their conference title at the SIAC Women's Cross-Country Championship on Friday, October 24, in Macon, Georgia. The team has built steady momentum this season, recently finishing second at the Warhawk Invitational.
Freshman standout
Brea Vann continues to make her mark as one of the SIAC's top runners, with a personal best of 19:31.9 in the 5K. She will be joined by teammates
Faith Thompson (19:55.5),
Sydney Haywood (20:15.5),
Dasia Gilyard (21:09.1), and
Azzaria Brown (21:21.1) — all poised to make a strong statement on the course.

Football Preview
The Golden Rams Football Team (6-1, 5-0 SIAC) heads into one of the most anticipated matchups of the season a battle for the No. 1 spot in the SIAC, as they travel to Columbia, South Carolina, to take on Benedict College (7-0, 6-0) on Saturday, October 25, at 2:00 PM.
Albany State holds a 17-5 all-time series lead over the Tigers, though Benedict claimed the most recent meeting the 2023 SIAC Championship Game with a 47-10 victory. The Golden Rams last defeated the Tigers 28-6 in Columbia on October 16, 2021. Under the leadership of Head Coach Quinn Gray Sr., the Golden Rams will look to reclaim the top spot in the conference and solidify their championship aspirations.
