Albany, GA – MiMi Harris, a standout student-athlete for the Albany State University volleyball team, has been selected to participate in the prestigious NCAA x Meta NIL Empower Program as part of the Spring 2025 cohort. This highly competitive three-month program, hosted by the NCAA and Meta, is designed to help NCAA women student-athletes enhance their name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities while preparing for life beyond sports.

The NCAA x Meta NIL Empower Program provides a unique platform for selected athletes to bridge the gap between college athletics and professional opportunities. Participants gain exclusive access to Meta product experts, networking opportunities with industry professionals, and financial literacy education from former student-athletes and business leaders.

Harris is one of 50 women selected from over 1,100 applicants, chosen based on criteria such as diversity across sports and divisions, current social media presence, and reasons for joining the program. Former participants of the program have seen tremendous success, with the Fall 2024 cohort accumulating over 13 million Instagram reel plays and 100,000 new followers in just three months.

As part of the program, Harris will have the opportunity to receive 1:1 Meta support, priority for Meta editorial and product marketing opportunities, and exclusive access to NCAA events and career development resources.

This selection is a testament to Harris' dedication both on and off the court, as she continues to represent Albany State University at the highest level. Her participation in the NCAA x Meta NIL Empower Program will not only enhance her brand but also shine a spotlight on ASU Volleyball and HBCU athletes on a national stage.

ABOUT ALBANY STATE ATHLETICS
Albany State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II-level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 11 sports: women's volleyball, women's tennis, women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, baseball, and football with all teams compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), except women's soccer, which participates in the Peach Belt Conference.
