Albany, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams continued their winning ways with a hard-fought 65-56 victory over the Savannah State Tigers on Saturday afternoon inside The Arena at West Campus. With the win, Albany State improved to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in SIAC play, while Savannah State fell to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
The Golden Rams and Tigers exchanged leads throughout the first half in a tightly contested matchup. Albany State held a slim 32-30 lead at halftime, thanks to strong efforts from
Blaise Wallace and
Cameron Evans, who provided timely scoring and defensive stops.
Albany State opened the second half with a renewed defensive focus, limiting Savannah State's perimeter shooting while maintaining efficiency on offense. The Golden Rams outscored the Tigers
33-26 in the final 20 minutes, pulling away late with key contributions from Wallace and Evans.
Blaise Wallace dominated the game with a double-double, recording 18 points and 14 rebounds, while also providing critical defensive stops.
Cameron Evans delivered an impressive performance off the bench, scoring 15 points and adding four assists and two steals.
G'Shan Aldridge facilitated the offense effectively, tallying eight points and nine assists.
Savannah State was led by
Javonte Lundy, who scored 12 points and grabbed 3 rebounds, but the Tigers struggled to find consistency against Albany State's defense.

The Golden Rams will have a quick turnaround as they prepare to host the No. 3 team in the SIAC East, Edward Waters Tigers, on Monday, January 13, for
Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. Tip-off is scheduled for
7:30 PM inside The Arena at West Campus.
