Albany, GA - The Albany State Lady Golden Rams Cross Country will open the 2024 season by participating in the annual VSU Border Clash hosted by Valdosta State University on Friday, September 6 at 7 PM. The classic will be held at Freedom Park in Valdosta, GA.

This is the sixth running of the meet, which started in 2017 and featured seven men's teams, and eight women's teams. The men's 7.25k will start at 6:20 p.m. followed by the women's 5k at 7:00 p.m. Awards will follow.
 
The Lady Golden Rams Women's Cross Country team has worked extremely hard during their preparation for the 2024 cross-country season. " Our girls are working hard daily, " said Coach Robert Smith. "We have added some new things that I believe will be a game changer for us this season and will help build our endurance. I'm confident in our girls and their abilities this year."

The Golden Rams finished third in the 2023 Cricket SIAC Women's Cross Country Championship at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course at Middle Georgia State University by securing two spots in the Top 10. Nathalia Rowe finished in the top five, while teammate  Zenay Rhaney finished in the ninth. Both ladies will return for the Lady Golden Rams and are eager to finish at the top of the conference again this year.
