ALBANY, Ga. – The Lady Rams run on the court continued on Thursday afternoon. Albany State recorded its second clean sweep of Georgia Southwestern, 7-0, and posted its 20
th women's tennis victory of the season.
Making quick work of her fifth singles opponent,
Bianca Leao led the Lady Ram charge in a 6-0 and 6-0 quick win over Shy'Neshia Salter
Asia Raulerson and
Sumana Panauganti teamed up at third doubles for their own ASU shutout of 6-0 over Salter and Makaina Griffin.
Top ASU singles,
Natalya Ogunwale took care of Maya Boynton in good fashion (6-3 and 6-1). Raulerson and
Allyah Williams added identical 6-4, 6-3 wins in the second and sixth singles over Melissa Duarte and Griffin.
As a team, ASU added another 'W' for the 11th-straight match and improved to an impressive 20-3 on the season. It was also the Lady Rams' second 7-0 final over the Lady Hurricanes with the first coming in Americus, Ga., on February 22.
ASU returns to action next Monday afternoon, April 8, in Carrollton at West Georgia in a 2 p.m. first serve.
