Golden Rams Early Scoring Keys Victory over Tigers

ALBANY, Ga. – As it was vital in the Tuesday upset, the Golden Rams scored plenty early on Thursday. Albany State scored seven times in the first two at bats and Jeremiah Reddell kept Edward Waters in check in a 11-1 baseball final.

Following the Tigers get sent down in order, the Golden Rams scored runs on a bases-loaded walk, a RBI ground out and two visiting balks for a 4-0 lead. Zane Ross lined a run-scoring single and two more ASU runners scored on an error to open a 7-0 advantage. Reddell quieted the visitors to a single hit and one walk over five scoreless innings of work.

Jonathan Logsdon and Zane Ross combined to go 6 for 6 from the top two spots – Logsdon was 2 for 2 with two runs while Ross finished 4 for 4 with three runs and an RBI. Addison followed them in the order with his own 2 for 3 day and an RBI. Emory Stephens added a 2 for 4 contest with an RBI, while Dominic Rutigliano dobuled and scored. Austin Roberts chipped in a single and drove in a pair. Hill Corley drove in two and scored twice.

Along with Reddell, Chandler Walker and Tyler Bullock had scoreless innings of work on the mound.

Leading 7-0 in the home fourth, Rutigliano doubled to lead off, Logsdon walked and Ross singled to load the sacks. Addison drew a walk to score the first run before Corley's fielder's choice RBI and Roberts' single hit in the final for a 10-0 lead.

After the lone Tiger run in the visiting sixth, Stephens drove home Corley on a single for the Golden Ram final score.

ASU and Edward Waters complete the SIAC series on Friday afternoon, April 26, in a 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
