Albany State University's head football coach, Quinn Gray, Sr., has announced the Golden Rams' 2024 spring ball schedule. The season kicks off on Monday, February 26, featuring a series of 14 practices. These sessions lead up to the much-anticipated annual Blue and Gold Game, set for Saturday, April 6 at 12 noon.
"As a staff we are excited going into spring ball next week because of the energy we have seen all winter long from our guys," said head coach Quinn Gray, Sr." "The effort, focus, and attention to detail has been tremendous over the past six weeks in our strength and conditioning program. So, were definitely excited to see that same effort, focus, and attention to detail transition to the field for the 15 opportunities we have to #MoveTheNeedle!"
The spring practices, scheduled to start at 4:45 p.m. on weekdays, will take place at Hampton Smith Fields. To further engage the local Albany community, Coach Gray has arranged for scrimmages at 10 a.m. on selected Saturdays to be hosted at Monroe High School (3/16) and Westover High School (3/23). All practices and scrimmages are open to the public and free of charge.
The Golden Rams are looking to build on their 2023 season, which saw them clinch a spot in the SIAC Football Championship Game, finishing with a 6-5 record.
Mark your calendars, as season tickets for the 2024 season will be available starting March 1st.
