Albany, GA – The Albany State Golden Rams will ring in the new year with a highly anticipated matchup against the Shorter University Hawks at The Arena on West Campus. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM as both teams look to bounce back from recent setbacks and closeout 2024 with a much-needed win.

This will be the first meeting between the Golden Rams and the Hawks in recent years, setting the stage for an intriguing matchup. Both teams enter the contest looking to rebound from tough stretches of play.

The Golden Rams (5-6) are eager to return to form after two hard-fought losses to Georgia College (75-84, Dec. 18) and Clayton State (68-92, Dec. 19). Despite the recent results, the Golden Rams have shown flashes of potential, with key players stepping up in crucial moments.

Offensively, Albany State will rely on its backcourt to set the tone, while the frontcourt looks to control the glass and dictate the pace of play. With strong support from the home crowd, the Golden Rams aim to start 2024 with momentum.

Shorter University (4-6) is looking to end its losing streak after recent defeats to Southern Wesleyan (72-79) and UNC-Pembroke (57-91). While facing challenges in offense and defense, their transition scoring remains a strength. The Hawks will focus on perimeter shooting and improving their defense to contain Albany State's offensive threats.
