ASU Athletics Administrator Mrs. Shaquana Miller Represents SIAC at NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum

Albany, GA - Albany State University Athletics' Administrator Mrs. Shaquana Miller was nominated by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) to represent the conference at the  NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum held in Charlotte, NC, from November 21-24.

The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum brings together a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, and administrators from across the nation to build leadership skills, foster self-awareness, and create a deeper understanding of the values and core beliefs that drive successful leadership.

Participants leave the forum equipped with:
  • A leadership toolkit to enhance both personal and professional growth.
  • A strong connection to the NCAA's mission and the pivotal role of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC).
  • A personal network of like-minded peers for continued support and collaboration.
During the four-day event, Mrs. Miller engaged in dynamic discussions with student-athletes and administrators, focusing on unlocking leadership potential, fostering holistic support for student-athletes, and aligning values with effective behaviors. She accompanied student-athletes from LeMoyne-Owen College and Central State University, forming bonds and sharing insights with future leaders in collegiate athletics.

"I am beyond grateful for this nomination and the opportunity to connect with and learn from the next generation of leaders," said Miller. "For four days, we gained invaluable tools to unlock our fullest potential as leaders. The highlight for me was engaging with student-athletes from around the world and discussing how we, as administrators and coaches, can best support them from a holistic perspective. I am excited to bring back the resources and insights I've gained to my campus, empowering our student-athletes to grow into the best versions of themselves."

Mrs. Miller's exceptional representation of the SIAC and Albany State demonstrates her dedication to enhancing the experience and development of student-athletes. Her involvement in this transformative forum will surely inspire positive change within our athletics community.
