Lady Golden Rams Drop Conference Opener to Miles College

Fairfield, AL - The Albany State Lady Golden Rams opened SIAC conference play on Saturday, November 23, falling to the Miles College Golden Bears, 58-43, at Knox-Windham Gym in Birmingham, AL. The loss moved Albany State to a 1-2 overall record and 0-1 in conference play.

The Lady Golden Rams came out strong in the first half, leading 27-21 at halftime thanks to aggressive play on both ends of the court. However, a tough third quarter turned the tide, with Miles outscoring Albany State 22-4 in that period. Despite a spirited effort in the fourth quarter, Albany State was unable to close the gap as Miles pulled away for the win.

Na'Haviya Paxton contributed 8 points and 5 rebounds, meanwhile, Keyra Peterson showcased her hustle, leading the team with 8 rebounds, 7 points, and 2 steals. Yasmine Fairchild added 5 points, connecting on 5-of-6 free throw attempts. India McIntosh provided a spark off the bench with 6 points and 2 rebounds.
