Greenwood, SC – In their season finale, the Albany State Lady Golden Rams fell 5-0 to the Lander University Bearcats on November 2nd, wrapping up a challenging season.
Lander opened the scoring at the 30:20 mark with a penalty kick goal by Lauren DaRe. Shortly before halftime, Lucy Bova netted her third goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0. The second half continued in Lander's favor, as Ellisyn Poland scored her first goal at 48:11, followed by a 70th-minute strike by Darcy Ahern. Angele Hills capped off the match with her sixth goal of the season at 85:14, sealing a comprehensive victory for the Bearcats.
The Lady Golden Rams, who ended the season 1-15 overall and 0-9 in conference play, were led by standout
Jordyn Keene, who tallied a team-high 15 shots on goal and 22 total shots this season. Reiley Bain added seven shots on goal and 10 total shots, while
Taniya Averett and
Gabby Toney contributed equally with five shots on goal each. Goalkeeper
Ava Droze faced intense pressure throughout the season, with 432 shots against her and an impressive 145 saves to her name.
While the season proved difficult, the Lady Golden Rams displayed resilience and determination on the field, setting a foundation for growth and improvement in the seasons ahead.
