Albany State Falls to Edward Waters 5-0

Albany, GAThe Albany State Lady Golden Rams suffered a tough 5-0 defeat against the Edward Waters Lady Tigers on Wednesday evening at the ASU Soccer Stadium. The loss drops Albany State to 1-7 on the season, while Edward Waters improves to 4-4-1.

Edward Waters jumped ahead early in the first half, scoring three goals before halftime. Dadie Cherenfant started the scoring with a low shot in the 8th minute, assisted by Rose-Bertude Rosinvil. Shortly after, Rosinvil extended the lead with a goal in the 6th minute, followed by Mya Joseph's strike in the 28th minute, assisted by Cherenfant, giving the Lady Tigers a commanding 3-0 halftime lead.

The second half saw Edward Waters continue to apply pressure. Rosinvil scored her second goal of the match just after halftime in the 47th minute, making it 4-0. Dahien Cabrera added the final goal at the 61st minute, sealing the 5-0 win for the Lady Tigers.

Albany State fought to generate offense, with Nelia Dailey leading the way, recording three shots on goal. Gabby Toney, Imani Mays, and Sagine Atis each contributed one shot on goal, but the Lady Golden Rams were unable to break through Edward Waters' defense.

Goalkeeper Ava Droze faced relentless pressure throughout the match, facing over 20 shots and making seven saves. Daphne Estrada came in as a relief goalkeeper, finishing with one save and allowing no goals.
