The Albany State Golden Rams women's basketball team will play Georgia Southern University at 6:00 pm in Hanner Fieldhouse, on Monday, November 20, in Statesboro, Georgia.  This will be the teams first time meeting since 1987.
 
The Golden Rams are (0-5) on the season after falling to West Georgia and West Alabama in the SIAC/ GSC Challenge, Columbus State and to Elizabeth City State and Johnson C. Smith in the SIAC/ CIAA Challenge.  Despite being (0-5), the Golden Rams have led in every game this season.
 
Elisa Saffold is the Golden Rams leading scorer.  Saffold averages 14.6 points per game and averages 4.6 rebounds per contest.  Keyra Peterson averages 11.6 points and 8 rebounds.
 
The Eagles are (2-2) on the season.  The Eagles have defeated Allen University and Eastern Michigan University and lost to the University of Georgia and Jacksonville University.
 
Terren Ward is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Eagles.  Ward averages 19.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.  Simone James average 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds.
 
The Golden Rams and Eagles last played on January 27, 1987.  On that day, the Golden Rams won (68-67).
