ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University used a home field advantage to secure a 13-8 victory over the Tigers of Edward Waters College this afternoon.
Edward Waters opened with adding two runs in the top of the first inning. In their first opportunity at bat, the Golden Rams took advantage, plating four runs on five hits when
Sydney Pettus hit one out of the park for a quick lead after one full inning.
With a lot of softball to play, Edward Waters answered in the second inning. They scored two runs on three hits to tie the game four all. The Golden Rams held the Tigers scoreless in the third and fourth inning. In the bottom of the third inning, Albany State plated two runs to edge the Tigers 7-4.
Albany State added a run in the fourth inning when
Ciweya Tennison scored on a pass ball to grow ASU's lead 8-4. EWC answered in the fifth inning when they added four runs to tie to the game 8 all for the second time in the contest. The Golden Rams answered in the bottom when
Glory Seay collected a home run to give ASU a 10-8 advantage. Albany State added three runs in its final inning at bat to take the 13-8 victory.
Sydney Pettus earned her second pitching win of the season, allowing eight runs on 11 hits with two strikeouts after facing 36 batters.
Glory Seay led the golden Rams at the plate, along with Blanton and Herrera, each going 2-for-4. Seay and Pettus recorded three RBIs while
Jordan Waller had one in the win.

The Golden Rams will return to the field as they host Valdosta State University in doubleheader action on Wednesday, April 14th. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
